WASC

As most of you are aware we went through the WASC process during the last school year. For those of you who are not familiar with the process I share the following with you.

"Accreditation is a dual-purpose process that schools (1) must be worthy of the trust placed in them to provide high-quality learning opportunities and (2) clearly demonstrate continual self-improvement.

An accredited school is focused on a mission and goals for students; it is student-oriented and examines its students' performance continuously; it accepts objective evaluation from a team of outside peer professionals trained by WASC; it maintains a qualified faculty within an effectively organized school; it collaboratively assesses the quality of its educational programs on a regular basis; and it plans for the future."

The faculty and staff of St. John's worked very hard to write a report reflecting life here. Faculty, staff, parents, and students all played a part in showing the team what we are all about at St. John's. They were thoroughly impressed with the school, the students, the parent representatives, the board, the faculty and the general sense of community in the school.

Thanks to all of you for your cooperation and hard work. The accreditation for a school can be anywhere from 1-6 years. Because of our hard work we were given the highest, a 6-year accreditation. Again, thank you, and we will continue to work hard for you and your children.
