8th Grade Project

YOU ARE THERE

In pre-revolutionary America there were many conflicts between the British Government and the Citizens of the thirteen colonies. Two major incidents during this time period were the Boston Massacre in March of 1770 and the Boston Tea party in December of 1773

You are a witness to one of those events. As a teenaged apprentice you will tell about the event as you saw it happen.

You may tell your stroy in the form of a diary entry or a letter to a friend in another colony.

Be sure to include:

  • what was daily life like?
  • where did you live?
  • what did you eat?
  • what was your schedule?
  • what did you do?
  • what were the issues that led to the massacre/tea party
  • what did the colonists and British disagree about?
  • what did the colonists do about it?

Evaluation Elements:

  • accurate factual information
  • point of view for identity
  • creative placement of self in story
  • neatness
  • mechanics - spelling, grammar, etc...
